“Hydrotac™ lenses turn any glasses into magnifying glasses with superior clarity. Just add water and adhere. Lenses are 1.2 inches in diameter and are removable, reusable. Great for those who require magnification for eyewear that is not prescription, like sunglasses. Hydrotac™ lenses can be trimmed to size with a sharp scissors and positioned anywhere on the lens. Use the included protective case to keep them safe when not in use.“
It’s a fact that, at some point, most of us will find ourselves holding anything that we’re trying to read further and further away. This is the stage of life when you end up with “readers” hanging on bits of cord around your neck, or lying around all over the place because you can never find them when you want them.
We’re often asked for advice by people who know they need some assistance for reading or close work but don’t yet feel the need for our proper prescription sunglasses.
Nobody wants to balance readers on the end of their nose whilst wearing sunglasses and nobody wants to mess about taking readers and sunnies on and off whenever they need to read anything. The best diy solution that we have found is the Hydrotac bi-focal reading segment system. Each Hydrotac pack contains a pair of bi-focal reading segments that that you fit to the inside lens surfaces.
They are made from Polymer aspheric material and attach to the lenses using water. It’s important to follow the simple instructions and ensure that the lenses are properly cleaned, and then you pop a drop of water on the rear surface of the lenses and position the segments. At this stage they can be slid about, allowing you to position them correctly. When you’re happy you dab up the excess water and carefully dry them off..
Before fitting they can be trimmed down by up to 5 mm if necessary by slicing material from the flat top of the segment using a sharp pair of scissors.
If, for any reason, you need to remove them they can easily be peeled off by gently lifting a corner. They are reusable and can be stored in the little plastic pack that they are supplied in. The segments can be used wherever you like on the rear of the lens which might be useful for some specialist applications.
